Mimzy — Privacy Policy

Mimzy app is an AI-powered dream journal and wellness companion. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We built Mimzy to respect your privacy — your dreams are personal, and we treat them that way.

By installing or using Mimzy, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who we are

2. What we collect

2.1 Content you create

• Dream entries you log (text you type or speak). These are stored locally on your device in an encrypted database. We do not sync dream text to our servers.
• Wellness answers you provide in wellness consultations (age range, sleep routine, quality ratings, free-text notes). Stored locally on your device.
• Preferences you set (traditions, wake time, reminder settings). Stored locally on your device.

2.2 Data processed by AI (not stored by us)

When you tap “Interpret” or complete a wellness consultation, the text of your dream or your wellness answers is sent to Google’s Gemini API for interpretation or personalised insight generation. This is the minimum processing required to deliver the feature you asked for.

• Google Gemini does not use this data to train its models (per Google’s terms for API customers).
• We do not store these API requests on our own servers — we have no servers.
• The returned interpretation or insight is saved back into your device’s local database.

2.3 Microphone (voice input)

If you use voice mode to record a dream, your speech is processed by your device’s built-in speech recognition (via Android’s SpeechRecognizer API — provided by your phone manufacturer, typically Google Gboard). The audio itself never leaves your device in raw form. Only the transcribed text is shown to you, and it is only sent onward if you choose to interpret it.

2.4 Analytics (Firebase Analytics)

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how people use Mimzy — which screens are most viewed, how often users return, which features get engagement. We do not collect the content of your dreams, wellness answers, or any personally identifying text for analytics. Firebase collects standard mobile analytics data such as:

• A randomly generated installation ID
• Device model, OS version, screen size, language, country
• App version and session duration
• Basic event names (e.g., “dream_logged”, “onboarding_completed”)

2.5 Crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics)

We use Firebase Crashlytics to receive automatic reports when the app crashes, so we can fix bugs. Crash reports contain a stack trace, device model, OS version, and the path of screens you visited before the crash. They do not contain your dream content.

2.6 Advertising (Google AdMob)

We show advertising on the interpretation screen to support free use of the app. Google AdMob uses an Advertising ID (a resettable identifier on your device) to serve and measure ads. You can reset or limit this ID at any time via your phone’s Settings → Google → Ads. You can read Google’s own privacy disclosures at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

2.7 Subscriptions (future)

If and when we introduce subscriptions, billing is handled entirely by Google Play Billing. We do not see or store your payment details. We receive only an indication that your subscription is active.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Generate your dream interpretations and wellness insights (via Google Gemini)
• Show your personal journal of past dreams and insights
• Identify recurring patterns across your dreams
• Send you a gentle morning reminder (only if you opt in to notifications)
• Understand which features work and which don’t (Firebase Analytics)
• Diagnose and fix crashes (Firebase Crashlytics)
• Show ads to sustain free usage (Google AdMob)

We do not:

• Sell your personal data to anyone, ever.
• Share the text of your dreams or wellness answers with third parties beyond the minimum processing described above.
• Use your dream content for advertising targeting.
• Train AI models on your data.

4. Third-party services we use

5. Data retention

• Dreams and wellness sessions: stored on your device for as long as you keep the app installed. You can delete any entry, or clear all data via Settings → About → Reset, or by uninstalling the app.
• Analytics events: retained by Firebase for up to 14 months.
• Crash reports: retained by Crashlytics for up to 90 days.
• AI requests: not stored by us at all. Google’s retention of API requests is described in their policies.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data — it is all on your device; you can see it in Journal and Patterns.
• Export your data — email us at 21naren@gmail.com and we will provide instructions.
• Delete any dream or wellness session individually in the app.
• Delete all your data by uninstalling the app.
• Opt out of analytics — email us at 21naren@gmail.com if you want analytics disabled for your install.
• Opt out of personalised ads — on Android, go to Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.

If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, California, or another region with specific privacy laws, you have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and similar laws. Email us at 21naren@gmail.com to exercise them.

7. Children

Mimzy is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us at 21naren@gmail.com and we will take appropriate action.

8. Security

• Your on-device data is stored in the app’s private sandbox, protected by Android’s standard app isolation.
• All network requests are made over HTTPS (TLS).
• We cannot access your device data. Only you can.

No security system is perfect. If you suspect a security issue, please email us at 21naren@gmail.com.

9. International users

Mimzy is offered globally. When you use the app, your AI-processing requests are routed to Google’s servers, which may be located outside your country. By using the app you consent to this transfer.

10. AI-generated content disclaimer

Mimzy’s interpretations, wellness insights, and suggestions are AI-generated for self-reflection and entertainment. They are not medical advice, psychological diagnosis, religious guidance, or professional counsel. If you are experiencing distress, please consult a qualified professional. If you are in crisis, please contact your local emergency services or a mental-health helpline.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be announced in-app and the “Last updated” date above will change. Continued use of Mimzy after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
