PlantPulse Privacy Policy

PlantPulse (“we”, “our”, “the app”) explains in this policy what data we handle and how.
1. What we collect on-device
- Photos you take of plants — stored only on this device, inside PlantPulse’s private storage.
- Chat history and conversation titles — stored only on this device.
- Preferences (Premium subscription state, onboarding completion, daily free-reply counter) — stored only on this device.
We do not upload your photos or chats to our own servers. If you uninstall the app, all of the above is deleted with it.
2. What we send to third parties
Google Gemini (Google LLC): when you open a chat, the photo and your messages are sent to Gemini to generate answers. Google’s handling is governed by the Google APIs Terms of Service and Gemini API Additional Terms — see ai.google.dev/terms and policies.google.com/privacy.
Firebase (Google): we use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand app usage in aggregate and diagnose crashes. These collect a Firebase instance ID, device model, OS version, app version, and non-personal event data. See firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Google AdMob: shown to users who have not upgraded to PlantPulse Plus. AdMob may collect advertising identifiers and use them to serve interest-based ads unless you opt out in your device’s settings. See policies.google.com/privacy and support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543.
Google Play Billing: handles subscriptions and purchases; we receive only purchase confirmations and product IDs, never card details.
3. Permissions
- Camera — required to take a photo of your plant. Denying is fine; you can still pick from the gallery.
- Notifications (Android 13+) — optional, used only for product updates you opt into.
- Internet / network state — required to reach Gemini and our monetisation partners.
4. Children
PlantPulse is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will assist with deletion.
5. Your choices
- Delete any conversation any time from History.
- Opt out of personalised ads in Android Settings → Google → Ads.
- Cancel PlantPulse Plus anytime from Google Play → Subscriptions.
- To request account-wide deletion or data export, email the address below.
6. Security
All network traffic uses HTTPS with modern TLS. On-device data is stored in PlantPulse’s private app directory, which other apps on the device cannot read on a non-rooted device.
7. Changes
We may update this policy. When we do, we will increment the “Last updated” date and — for material changes — prompt you in the app.
