Privacy Policy — SpeakYaar
App: SpeakYaar: AI English Speaking (package com.speakyaar.app)
Effective date: 12 June 2026
SpeakYaar (“the app”, “we”) is an English speaking practice app. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it goes, and the choices you have. We have designed SpeakYaar to keep as much of your data as possible on your own device.
1. Information the app processes
- Conversation text. The messages you speak or type during practice conversations, mock interviews and word-pack generation are sent to Google’s Gemini API (a Google LLC service) to generate the AI partner’s responses. We do not operate our own servers and we do not store your conversations anywhere outside your device. Google processes this data under the Gemini API terms and the Google Privacy Policy.
- Your voice. Speech recognition and the AI voice are performed by your device’s built-in Android speech services. The app itself never records, stores or transmits your audio.
- Resume details (optional). If you choose to upload a resume or enter background details for interview practice, that content is sent once to the Gemini API so the AI interviewer can ask relevant questions. Your resume is not saved — neither by us on any server nor in the app after the practice session ends.
- Profile and progress. Your name (optional), English level, native language, goal, streaks, learned words, saved conversations and quiz scores are stored locally on your device only.
- Advertising data. The app shows ads through Google AdMob. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect your IP address, device identifiers (including the Android advertising ID), coarse ad-interaction data and diagnostic information to serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud. See How Google uses information from AdMob and Google partner policies.
2. What we do NOT do
- We do not require an account and do not collect your email or phone number.
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not store your conversations, voice or resume on any server of ours.
3. Consent for personalised ads (EEA/UK)
If you use the app in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you will see a consent dialog (Google’s certified consent platform) before any personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ad consent options inside the app.
4. Data deletion
You can delete all locally stored data at any time via Settings → Delete my data inside the app, or by uninstalling the app. Because we keep no server-side copies, this removes everything we control. For advertising-data choices, you can also reset your advertising ID in your device settings.
5. Children
SpeakYaar is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
6. Security
All communication with Google services (Gemini API, AdMob) uses encrypted HTTPS connections. Data stored on your device is protected by your device’s standard app sandboxing.
7. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date.
